Dunedin Music Society

If you dream of launching or extending your business leadership career in the strongest possible way, doing good for your community and gaining precious real-world experience with your own assignments, even if you've had no time in a governing Board room, have never taken ownership of a project with massive community impact, or don't even have practice generating policies and procedures... If you want to break the cycle of "I can't get any experience for the jobs that require prior experience..." Then commit to this: The Dunedin Music Society is looking for a one-year Executive Associate (volunteer, like the rest of us) to assist our General Director with business leadership and administrative tasks. Although we predict about 12 hours a week of actual work, including attending workshops, community functions, our own events, and meeting with the community, business and government officials, we are flexible and expect results more than time-clocking punch cards. Is it important to you that your work:

  • Is appreciated
  • Has an impact on the community
  • Lasts well beyond the time you spend with the organization
  • Is of the highest standard, with excellence in presentation as well as execution
  • Delivered on time and within budget?
We think so, too, and would love to meet you for a chat. Here is a list of our expectations: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G14-Kxp8VI7z6SIq-66NVqeM7c8SFBAA/view?usp=sharing Think about it carefully, and if your instincts are pumped up and you are even more excited now than you were at this announcement's headline, submit your well-thought-through and succinct application no later than 12 noon on Sunday, September 15th, so we can study it and understand why you think you are the best candidate out there for us to invest our time, energy, training, and reputation in.
