The Milwaukee Public Library is looking for volunteers to help out during Doors Open 2019 on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. This iconic event allows historic and beloved buildings from throughout Milwaukee to open their doors to the public, giving them a special and rare insider’s look for just two days.

Our Central Library (814 W. Wisconsin Ave, built in 1898) is proud to be participating again this year and we’d love your help making sure everyone who comes through our doors has a wonderful experience learning about our history.

Each day will be broken up into a morning and afternoon shift and volunteers are welcome to choose which date and shift works best for them. On Saturday, September 28 we’re looking for individuals to help escort tour groups up to the different floors. The morning shift on Saturday will run from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. with the afternoon shift going from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

On Sunday, September 29 we’re looking for individuals to help give pre-scripted information about the history of the Rotunda and Old Board Room. The first shift will run from 12:00 - 2:30 p.m. and the second from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
