Outreach initiatives advance the use of Lighthouse Guild services through strategic, targeted contacts, collaborations, partnerships and activities with organizations and individuals in the community.
A bright, enthusiastic student is needed to help with outreach activities. The responsibilities include: general administrative duties; arranging, tracking and reporting on outreach activities; advancing awareness of and increasing referrals to Lighthouse Guild services from medical and health professionals and the general public.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update outreach contact database, inputting information received from referrals, presentations, meetings, etc.
- Monitor outreach portion of website for outdated content.
- Monitor outreach-related referrals, to ensure that referring providers receive feedback on their patients/clients.
- Handle requests for Lighthouse Guild participation in health fairs and other community forums, participate in them and/or arrange for coverage by staff and/or other volunteers, as appropriate.
- Follow up on outreach activities to ensure that potential clients are enrolled in appropriate Lighthouse Guild services.
Skills Required:
- Ability to maintain detailed records is necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to research and write is necessary.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- Computer skills, including Word and Excel are necessary.

- The internship days and times are negotiable. A minimum of 8 hours per week is required during business hours, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday though Friday. Some weekend hours may be required.
