The grounds around the Snowden House on the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve have been transformed into native plant gardens with over 100 different species by a dedicated group of volunteers. We’d like to grow the group to keep up with all the gardens! We're looking for help with weeding, watering, and planting, as well as other work around the preserve tract including invasive plant removal and trail maintenance.
We'll provide tools and gloves, though please feel free to bring your own. The volunteers often eat lunch on the porch after the morning of work - bring a lunch if you'd like to join us! There's a fridge and microwave available.
If you haven't volunteered with us before, please bring a signed waiver form: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/Docs/bccp/volunteer-liability.pdf
If you are under 18 or bringing a minor with you, please fill out a minor waiver form, which requires a parent/guardian signature: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/Docs/bccp/volunteer-liability-minor.pdf
If you have any questions, please email Johanna at Johanna.arendt@traviscountytx.gov
