Hunger at Home Gala Volunteer Opportunities 10-22-22
Way Finders
- Number needed: 10 volunteers
- Role: Greeter
- Role Description: Greeters have a very impactful role in the guest experience during the gala. Greeters will be stationed at several high impact areas welcoming and directing guests and answering any general questions they may have.
- Date & Time: Day of event, Saturday 10/22/22 4:30pm until 7pm
- Resources: Pre-shift, walk thru, internal gala info sheet for reference
Registration table (Check in/out)
- Number needed: 20 volunteers
- Role: Check In/Out Ambassador
- Role Description: Registration volunteers are often the first point of contact for guest, it is essential that a warm welcome is extended, and personal information is properly collected and confirmed during the check in process. Check in/out ambassadors must be available to commit to meet for training prior to the gala, please see information below.
- Date & Time: Day of event Saturday 10/22/22 4pm until 8pm
- Resources: Volunteer lead, laptops, iPads, pre-shift, walk thru, internal gala info sheet for reference
Volunteer Lead
- Number needed: 3 volunteers
- Role: Lead Volunteer
- Role Description: Support Volunteer Coordinator, oversea volunteers on the day of the event. Help with the flow of evening, assist in ad hoc duties.
- Date & Time: Day of event Saturday 10/22/22 3:30pm until the end of the event
- Resources: Volunteer Coordinator, pre-shift, walk thru, internal gala info sheet for reference
Live Auction
- Number needed: 5 volunteers
- Role: Spotter
- Role description: Silent Auction Ambassadors play an important role in streamlining the live auction experience with set up in the most ascetically appealing way possible by working closely with the Auction Committee Director. The live Auction Ambassador also plays an integral role in maximizing fundraising efforts by walking guests through bidding for items on their mobile phone, in addition to being readily available to answer questions regarding the auction. Live Auction Ambassadors will also assist in the breakdown of the auction items at the end of the event. Live Auction Ambassadors must be available to commit to help set up for the event, please see information below.
- Date & Time: Day of event Saturday 10/22/22 7pm until 9pm.
- Resources: Pre-shift
Food & Beverage
- Number needed: 12 volunteers
- Role: Food Ambassador
- Role description: Food Ambassadors are responsible for being knowledgeable about the culinary offerings at their designated food stations. Food Ambassadors will assist each chef with prepping, plating, and answering questions about the dish.
- Date & Time: Day of event Saturday 10/22/22 4:30pm until 9pm
- Resources: Pre-shift
Table Ambassadors
- Number needed: 10 volunteers
- Role: Table Ambassador
- Role description: Table Ambassadors are responsible for creating a warm and unforgettable experience at the gala. Table ambassadors will be assigned to tables and will be responsible for touching each table throughout the evening.
- Date & Time: Day of event Saturday 10/22/22 6:00pm until 9pm
- Resources: Pre-shift

What We Do:
Hunger at Home is committed to reducing hunger in our community by providing equitable access to healthy and nutritious food. We achieve this through our food distribution programs that directly serve individuals, households, and our nonprofit partner organizations in the area. Our comprehensive approach includes rescuing and recovering food, keeping it out of landfills, and purchasing food from local sources to provide our clients with a balanced and nutritional selection of products.
