Welcome to volunteering with Hunger at Home! We are thrilled that you’ve chosen to work with us helping to feed people in our community. Volunteers are a vital part of our operation. We couldn't do what we do without the committed and hardworking volunteers who provide us with the gift of their time and skills. We accomplish so much more when we come together! Simply put, people helping people. We are glad and proud to have you on our team! We hope you find volunteering with us a rewarding and positive experience.

Our Mission:

Hunger at Home delivers leading edge solutions that build food security and self-sufficiency for a healthier and more equitable Silicon Valley.

Our True North:

To feed as many food-insecure people as we can.

What We Do:

Hunger at Home is committed to reducing hunger in our community by providing equitable access to healthy and nutritious food. We achieve this through our food distribution programs that directly serve individuals, households, and our nonprofit partner organizations in the area. Our comprehensive approach includes rescuing and recovering food, keeping it out of landfills, and purchasing food from local sources to provide our clients with a balanced and nutritional selection of products.

Each day in Silicon Valley, tens of thousands of pounds of excess food and surplus goods are dumped in our landfills and go to waste. In a Valley where one in three people experience food insecurity, Hunger at Home was created to connect the food and goods with those in need. Hunger at Home partners with local convention centers, hotels, and sports stadiums to collect excess food and goods to distribute to the hungry and homeless through a robust nonprofit network. To date, Hunger at Home has donated 11 million meals locally and helped distribute much needed items like towels, blankets, kitchen items, and hygiene kits. Hunger at Home also helps the clients of its nonprofit partners with job training and placement in the very businesses that donate excess food. Please consider donating or volunteering today!

I have already recommended one of my friends from highschool to come and help and see how it is. He ended up loving it and he told me afterwards that the expiernede was something like no other. I had fun talking with the people in this organization and they are truly one of the most kind hearted people I have ever came across of. I will forever keep this organization in my heart. It’s a great organization just like every single one. It would mean the world to this organization if more people came and helped. In other words I am so happy to say that I am part of this organization as a volunteer helper.
