We are expanding our community outreach and need a master sleuth with mad Google search skills. We are in search for organizations that we can collaborate with to get our organization's services and mission known.
Did you know the #1 indicator of future academic success is kindergarten readiness? Did you know that children from low-income families are 2x more likely to enter kindergarten unprepared? Learning Home Volunteers is working to change that. We want each child to get an equal start at school. Our master sleuth would help us identify contacts at organizations that:
- Serve the same community we do and would be in contact with those that would want our help
- Believe in social justice and would provide support for our mission
- Want to create a better community through helping all in the community
- Are faith organizations
- Are day care centers or preschool organizations
- Serve the same community we do and would be in contact with those that would want our help
- Could provide financial support, or support through a gift of their time
Can you help us?

Mission Statement
Learning Home Volunteers' mission is to improve educational outcomes for low-income children by transforming their home into a center of learning and their parents into agents of change for their child's educational growth.
Description
20% of the nation's children live in poverty. This effects their educational outcomes. 70% of them enter school unprepared. 50% will read at below grade level throughout their schooling. 30% will eventually drop out of high school. In our community the situation is even worse: 80% enter school unprepared and 73% are reading below grade level at 3rd grade. After 3rd grade, all learning is book based making it difficult to keep up if you can't read well.
Our program works with parents to help them prepare their child for kindergarten. Through training they learn how to support their child's learning through the use of learning materials design, built, and packaged by our experts. We are changing outcomes for under-served communities in San Mateo County. Joins us. Change the future - one child at a time!
