Mission Statement
Prepare under-served children, ages 2 to 5, and their families for kindergarten through play.
Description
20% of the nation's children live in poverty. This effects their educational outcomes. 49% of them enter school unprepared. 50% will read at below grade level throughout their schooling. 30% will eventually drop out of high school. In our community the situation is even worse: 80% enter school unprepared and 73% are reading below grade level at 3rd grade. After 3rd grade, all learning is book based making it difficult to keep up if you can't read well.
Our program works in the home of the child and bring the preschool to the child. We train the parent on using our child-directed play based methodology to help the child and the family prepare for school. We are changing outcomes for under-served communities in San Mateo County. Joins us. Change the future!
