Do you love animals? Come volunteer with our team of Interpreters to work directly with the amazing animals of Puget Sound! Don’t have any experience with estuary animals? No problem! We provide on-the-job training that will make you an expert in no time. Volunteering during Estuarium open hours are not only fun, but also an excellent way to help the community connect with our local environment.
The Estuarium features the amazing diversity of live animals from intertidal and subtidal environments in South Puget Sound. You will work with sea stars, crabs, shrimp, anemones, sea cucumbers, chitons, fish, and much more. As a volunteer you will have opportunities to learn how to use different microscopes, do plankton tows, and get access to our different events around Olympia.
We also offer programs, activities, and projects for those with varied talents- feel free to contact us to work out the best partnership!
