Mission Statement

SSEA’s vision is to create learning opportunities and develop resources for our community to learn about estuaries and marine life. We do this through the South Sound Estuarium, a marine life discovery center, spring and summer Beach Naturalist, Pier Peer nighttime underwater viewing of marine life at Boston Harbor, fall and winter Discovery Speaker’s Series, our fall "Cruising for the Sound" sea adventure, and South Sound Naturalist, a partnership with Hands on Children’s Museum.

Description

South Sound Estuary Association (SSEA) was founded in 2007 as a result of community interest in creating opportunities for the public to learn about estuaries, geology, natural and cultural history, marine life, and human impact on the Puget Sound (2nd largest estuary in the U.S. by size and largest by volume).
