Reporting to the Chief Executive and Chief Development Officers, this position supports revenue growth functions of The Arc Minnesota in a multitude of ways. This intern will research other Arcs in the US, analyze their revenue streams, compare those streams to The Arc MN and make recommendations to expand and enhance revenue stream opportunities.
Responsibilities:

• Research Arc’s similar in size, geography, work methodology/focus, people served etc., to determine how they are funded; what their annual budgets are and what their average cost per hour is to operate
• Research ways nonprofits similar to The Arc have brought in revenue and what the breakdown is by category
• Create % of fund contributors for each Arc area and determine how that compares to The Arc MN’s funding streams/categories
• Conduct research & determine giving patterns for each Arc area along giving trends (3,5 & 10-year focus)
• Determine ways to optimize stewardship potential and revenue growth based on research findings
• Create a past, current and future trend analysis paradigm for The Arc MN; to include 3, 5 & 10-year analysis
• Based on research findings, create a proposal on how The Arc MN can maintain and grow current and new revenue streams
• Offer suggestions for improving donor requests, proposal templates, internal data gathering/tracking, story sharing, etc. to maximize revenue contributions
• Other tasks/projects as requested or needs arise to meet the goal of this internship

This is a 10-12 hours a week position is for the fall 2019. Must be available 2-3 shifts per week. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. An exit interview will be conducted to gauge intern experience and to make recommendations for improvement. Includes a $1000 stipend paid in December.

The Arc Minnesota is a non-profit, grassroots advocacy organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Intellectual and developmental disabilities include Down syndrome, autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and related conditions. The Arc helps people address issues such as early intervention, education, transition to adulthood, employment, housing, health care, guardianship, transportation, supports available to families/caregivers and on policy issues at local, state and national levels.
