He/she must have a professional demeanor, understand how to manage volunteers at events, express a love for working with people and dealing with various constituencies of people with calm and cool. He/she will make sure that all volunteers feel respected, welcomed and valued, are put to meaningful work, and that there is an easy transition between volunteer shifts. He/she must be sure volunteers get access to food and breaks when needed. He/she must make sure that everything that must happen with relations to our event needs gets done with those available volunteers who come out to serve.
Volunteers will primarily work in the areas of registration, greeting, running errands, setting up/breaking down, replenishing snacks and drinks, and answering questions from students, speakers, advisors, and other event guests.
The person in this role is the go-to, point person that volunteers go to to learn what they should be doing and to sign them in and out. Where ever there is a need or opening, volunteers should be utilized."
