NW VEG

Are you a passionate person who loves telling people why you chose to vegan and answer questions about veganism in general?

We're looking to build an AMAZING team of outgoing folks who are excited to table at a variety of events throughout the year to help become a resource and positive face for plant-based diets!

About NW Veg:

Northwest VEG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA area. Founded in 2003, we are dedicated to bringing awareness to the power of a plant-based, vegan lifestyle and helping support people in their transition toward making healthier, more sustainable & compassionate food choices. We welcome everyone and encourage you to explore the issues at your own pace. Our purpose is to:

  • Build, support & maintain community in a fun environment

  • Build, connect & network in the larger community

  • Provide education & outreach

  • Be a responsible, effective & transparent organization

  • Provide expertise & serve as a resource to the community on vegan and plant-based issues

  • Create positive change & make the world a better place

About this volunteer position:
We are looking for patient, outgoing and positive vegans in the Portland/Vancouver area to come help inform and cheer folks on to trying veganism. We want folks who believe in our mission and goals and are excited to chat about all things vegan to a variety of crowds. Some of our tabling events are at general places, like a farmers market while others are at vegan or vegetarian specific events to help fellow vegans and vegan-curious folks learn about the resources and community we offer - like Veg Fest!

Some of our volunteers will need to be able to:
  • lift 30-50 lbs
  • stand for several hours at a time
  • answer some questions over and over to new people
  • be patient and positive to people not familiar with our goals.
If you fit this description, we'd love to work with you! We have an online training program along with several online or in-person meet ups a year among the outreach team.
