On the morning of Sunday, September 29, the American Lung Association in Michigan will hold a LUNG FORCE Walk Detroit at the Detroit Zoo.
The LUNG FORCE Walk Detroit is a passionate community gathering that celebrates the collective power of our breath and voice to stand up against lung cancer and for lung health.
LUNG FORCE Walk Detroit promotes local awareness-building and community engagement centerpiece of this campaign; we will rally women, their families and their local communities to raise their voices against lung cancer and for lung health through three core actions: Join, Learn, and Share. Join the movement to unite women to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health. Learn about lung disease and know their risks. Share stories to build understanding and form a powerful community for lung health.
Expected attendance for this event is over 900 participants, and we require around 100-150 volunteers to make this event a success.
Join us on our mission!

Mission Statement

The mission of the American Lung Association is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Description

For more than 115 years, Americans have trusted us to protect their lungs, whether it's researching treatments and cures for lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or advocating for laws that protect the air we all breathe.

Our goals are big-defeat lung cancer, create a tobacco-free future, champion clean air for all, and improve the quality of life for those living with lung disease.

Because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
