If you are seeking a front desk opportunity, The Day Shelter Guest Service Attendant right for you! You will be providing a welcoming and helpful atmosphere to those visiting the shelter.
Tasks could include:
- Greet and check in guests
- Distribute hygiene items
- Assist with guest laundry
- Answers and directs telephone calls
- Maintains daily logs and sign-up sheets
- Fill clothing orders
- Assists staff when necessary
- Shows respect for guests, staff and volunteers.
- Enjoys working with diversity of people.
- Ability to communicate appropriately with guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude is a must.
Time Commitment:
Prefer 1 day a week for a minimum of 4 hours per shift. Times maybe adjusted to meet a volunteers availability.

United Caring Services is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization - a homeless shelter and services agency - that provides people in need access to crisis stabilization services through six programs: a day shelter (drop-in center) for men, women, and children, emergency shelters for single men and women, additional "white/red flag" emergency shelter during inclement weather, an innovative homeless medical respite for men and women, and 21 low income studio apartments.
