American Red Cross: Disaster Action Team (DAT) Minnesota Dakotas Region.


Compassionate and committed individual are needed to support sheltering efforts this disaster season. Shelter volunteers support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other vital areas within a shelter. Free online training will be provided.

If you can travel outside your local area, a commitment of at least 14 consecutive days to volunteer for 8- or 12-hour shifts is needed (American Red Cross will provide travel accommodations). The hours are long, the work is hard, but he experience will change you forever.

RSVP offers maximum flexibility for people 55 and over who want to find challenging, rewarding, and significant service opportunities in their communities. RSVP Volunteers work with local organizations to have impact on critical needs in several focus areas: literacy, housing, food security, independence and well-being for seniors and persons with disabilities, economic opportunity, and service to veterans and military personnel and their families.
