Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter is seeking 150 volunteers to assist with their 2020 Stampede Scleroderma Hideous Sock Walk and Run being held at the Detroit Zoo on June 7, 2020. This family-friendly event is hosted inside the water tower parking lot of the Detroit Zoo.

Parking is free for all volunteers the morning of the event. For those volunteers entering the zoo gates at 6:00 a.m. use gates 1 or 3.5, park your car and come directly to the water tower parking lot. The truck is unload for the first 20 minutes of the morning and then the volunteer coordinator will assist all volunteers with locating their locations.

Volunteers must be over the age of 13 years. Each volunteer will receive one zoo ticket that can be used to enter the zoo gates before 10:30 a.m. the day of the event.

To provide educational & support to people with scleroderma & their families; to stimulate & support research designed to identify the cause & cure of scleroderma as well as improve methods of treatment & to enhance the public's awareness of the disease.

Description

We provide educational programs and services to scleroderma patients in the state of Michigan. We host Stampede Scleroderma every year at the Detroit Zoo and recruit volunteers to assist in the day of efforts of this event the first Sunday of June. We also look for community board members who can help to support our four-fold mission of educaiton, support, research and advocacy.
