The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University (Osher at SDSU) is one of 123 unique Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes supported by The Bernard Osher Foundation. The Osher at SDSU offers a vibrant and diverse learning community for adults age 50 and better, with intellectually stimulating, university-quality courses, and engaging leadership and volunteer opportunities. Established in 2004, Osher at SDSU is operated by staff from SDSU's College of Extended Studies with support from the Osher advisory board, leadership committees, members, and instructors.
The Osher Institute Volunteer Office Assistant will provide front desk support and customer service for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in The College of Extended Studies.
Tasks include:
- Directing, handling and/or responding to inquiries via phone calls, emails, or face-to-face
- Ensuring instructor contact list is current and accurate
- Printing parking permits for students
- Assembling class packets
- Emailing course reminders to students and instructors
- Prior experience working in an office environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Data entry
- Preferred: Google Docs (or similar)
Location: 5701 Hardy Avenue, San Diego, CA 92182 (SDSU Extended Studies Center Building) Free parking included.

Established in 2004, the Osher Institute at SDSU is operated by staff from SDSU's College of Extended Studies, with support from the Osher advisory board, leadership committees, members and instructors who serve within our diverse learning community. The Osher Institute at SDSU is funded through the generous endowment support of The Bernard Osher Froundation and the Osher Institute at SDSU members' fees and contributions.
