Being a volunteer advocate is one of the most critical roles we need to fill. You can be an advocate for survivors of sexual violence through our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline or through Hospital Accompaniment. Help reduce the trauma a survivor experiences from sexual violence by providing unbiased emotional support and information to survivors, family members, and friends. You will also help survivors understand their choices and support them in selecting their options.
Basic requirements for this volunteer opportunity are that you complete an application and background check, complete our 40 hr training (we provide), take at least 1 shift a month, and participate in in-person or virtual advocacy meetings when scheduled.
Training begins on April 16th, 2024 and concludes on May 2nd, 2024 ; this is a hybrid training class
(3 in person, and 7 virtual).

Our Mission is to provide counseling, education, and advocacy for those impacted by sexual violence.
Description
Free services are provided to victims of all forms of sexual violence including: attempted sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, date rape, incest, marital rape, and sexual harassment, no matter how long ago the incident occurred. Our services are provided by staff and trained volunteers.
We also provide free education to the middle schools, high schools, colleges, and the general community on topics such as bullying, sexual harassment, date rape, and other forms of sexual violence.

- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- You will only need to go through training once. Be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights from 6:30p-9:30p for 9 days out of a month and training is complete. Once you are trained we ask for at least 1 shift a month.
- Ability to take 2 shifts a month, COVID-19 Vaccinated, and ability to furnish own transportation
