Mission Statement

Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope, and envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live within our service area and around the world.

People in our community and around the world partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Habitat is the only provider of this unique and needed combination of program services in the rural-agricultural and tourism-based communities along the eastern slopes of the Wasatch Mountains.

Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, Utah ("Habitat") is one of more than 1,500 affiliates working at the grassroots level in more than 70 countries helping to transform lives and communities through affordable housing. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 6.8 million people meet their affordable housing needs. More than 2 million volunteers are mobilized annually to build, advocate and raise awareness about the local and global need for shelter. In 2016, Habitat for Humanity was recognized as the 'Most Trusted’ and 'Most Loved’ nonprofit in the social services sector.
