When we are aware that visits will resume, this opportunity will be updated. If you are interested in still volunteering, please reach out and inform in the comments section if you're interested in providing support over the phone during COVID-19 or if you would like to be contacted about volunteering once visits have resumed. We currently have hospice patients in Greater Boston Area who are looking for volunteers to come and visit them. This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in someone's end of life experience. Potential activities with patients can include any of the following:
Reading to patients
Talking/reminiscing
Making crafts
Attending activity groups in the facility
Offering companionship
Playing card/board games
Playing music for patients

Description
Join the volunteers at Beacon Hospice and learn how to provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The needs are simple--companionship and friendship, emotional support, and someone to listen. Administrative volunteer opportunities are also available.
