Best Friends Animal Society is thrilled to announce our very Best Friends Pet Super Adoption in Houston!
For those who have not attended, the Best Friends Super Adoption events bring together dozens of shelters and rescue groups in a fun, festival-like atmosphere to find homes for hundreds of animals in a single weekend. These events aim to make families feel welcome in the rescue community as they search for their next feline or canine family member.
The proud tradition of Best Friends Super Adoption events began more than a decade ago in Salt Lake City, and events are now held in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and New York annually (some twice a year). These high profile, large scale mega adoptions are highly successful in finding homeless pets their forever homes. It is typical for 300-500 pets to be adopted in a single weekend at Super Adoption! Help capture the happiest moments of Super Adoption, please read through the description below and email HoustonVolunteer@bestfriends.org if you are interested in assisting.
- Professional or advanced amateur photographer comfortable photographing people and pets in a busy event space.
- Professional photography equipment, including a digital DSLR, tripod and lighting. Booth space, power, backdrop, and a volunteer assistant will be provided. Specialized furniture requirements (benches) should be provided by the photographer or arranged in advance with event lead.
- Arrive in time to set up and be ready by public opening each day (10am Saturday, Noon Sunday), and stay until 5pm or when adoptions are finished for the day -- whichever is later.
- Deliver professional quality, low resolution images to Best Friends (via Dropbox or other provided method) within 24 hours of the end of the event for posting (with credit) to a social media gallery.
- Provide professional quality, high resolution images to Best Friends and adopters (via Dropbox or other provided method) within 7 days of the event. Link will be sent to adopters in our post-event email.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a bonus!
