Are you a military veteran and looking to volunteer in hospice? You've come to the right place! Many of our patients have served in the armed forces so we are always looking to bring veterans on board the Enhabit Hospice Volunteer Team.
We are looking for military veterans to volunteer in Direct Patient Volunteering which can include the following:
-Visiting with patients and exchanging life stories
-Reading to patients
-Working puzzles
-Watching tv/movies
-Listening to music
Direct Patient Volunteering can take place in Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes but may also include Caregiver Relief where you will stay and visit with the patient in their home while the caregiver runs errands, takes time for themselves or goes to appointments.
Come join the Enhabit Hospice Volunteer TEAM!
Be a part of our special team of Enhabit Hospice Volunteers. We care for our patients in the place they call home -- a private residence, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, or other inpatient setting. Just a few hours a week can make a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Volunteer Opportunity:
Direct Patient Care - Sitting with patients, reading, working puzzles, watching tv/movies and sharing life stories. This may also include Caregiver Respite where you will visit with the patient while the caregiver runs errands, takes time for themselves or goes to appointments.
Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and be at least 18 years old.
If you are interested in this wonderful volunteer opportunity, please email Stephanie Harmon at Stephanie.Harmon@ehab.com
Mission Statement
At Enhabit Hospice, we believe hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Our goal is to bring dignity and comfort home by offering compassionate care to patients and their families during the final stages of life.
Description
Enhabit Hospice is looking for a volunteer to provide friendship to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.
A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, caregiver respite, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
Serving the following areas:
Texas cities - Burleson, Granbury, Cleburne, Godley, Joshua, Crowley, Mansfield, Arlington, and Alvarado.
