The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to help a local non-profit staff their front desk. This position allows the agency to serve more clients, especially those facing food insecurity, homelessness, and other challenges.

Tasks: Provide front desk coverage. Answer muliti-line agency phones and direct caller to appropriate department, assist walk-in visitors, accept donations, gift processing, and make copies.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent experience, commitment to vulnerable populations, sensitivity and commitment to working with low income and minority families, willing to accept direction from staff, ability to work in a team environment and ability to speak and write in a clear, concise and effective manner.

Time: At least one shift per week. Shifts are Monday 1pm-5pm and Friday 1pm-5pm.

Location of work: Central office is in Ypsilanti near the corner of Huron and Michigan.
