ORGANIZATION: White Pony Express

A new Group volunteer activity began in April in the White Pony General Store program: We’ve introduced Care Kit Assembly projects and Care Kit Packaging (Arts & Crafts) projects to add value to the services we already provide for our recipient organizations, while at the same time providing an opportunity for small and large community or corporate group teams to engage with and support White Pony Express in ways that best suit your resources. These Care Kits are not only practical gifts for many of our recipients but they are decorated and packaged with love. Children are welcome to participate in these volunteer opportunities as well.

Please feel free to reach out to schedule an event. Even more importantly RIGHT NOW, we could use some massive support with obtaining these items to fill the care kits. A list is attached as well as below:

  • Trail Mix/Cliff Bar/ Small Peanut Butter
  • Wet wipes (small package)
  • Dry Shampoo

  • Pack of Kleenex
  • Maxi pads/Tampons
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Nail clippers
  • Band Aids
  • Chapstick
  • Lotion
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Comb or small brush
  • Mints, cough drops or gum

  • Note of encouragement

Description

At White Pony Express, we rescue fresh surplus food from supermarkets, restaurants, and farmers’ markets and deliver it free of charge to organizations that feed the hungry. We also collect and distribute high-quality clothing, children's toys, and books.

We were founded by Dr. Carol Weyland Conner in 2013. Dr. Conner conceived this model as an excellent way to help eliminate hunger and poverty by delivering the abundance all around us to our neighbors in need. From our first day, Dr. Conner has stressed that more important than the food and clothing we deliver is the love we give. Love is at the heart of a family, and we are one family.

Beyond our goal of helping others, WPE aims to create opportunities for selfless service. Hundreds of volunteers make White Pony Express possible. They volunteer with us because they believe in our mission. They know they are helping others who have urgent needs at this time in their lives.
