HOSPICE "FOLLOW-UP" PHONE CALLS - VOLUNTEERS NEED TO RESIDE IN THE COUNTIES THAT HOMELAND SERVES.

Join the Homeland Hospice Team and be a part of enhancing the quality of hospice care provided to patients! A need exists for volunteers to make Follow-Up Phone Calls. Follow-Up Phone Calls are made to patients or families who have recently been admitted onto service to check on the admission process, delivery of equipment, and to inquire about any issues or concerns.

Calls can be made from the comfort of the Homeland Hospice Office or from your home. If making calls from home, the volunteer needs to be able to make calls in private, and be able to receive and send encrypted computer messages from the Homeland Hospice Office. A sample "script" is available to help guide the volunteer with each call.

Homeland Hospice offers a self-study Hospice Orientation program so you can train as it fits your schedule. Background check and two-step PPD (TB test) are required; costs are covered by Homeland Hospice.

Contact Laurie Murry, Volunteer Coordinator, at 717-409-8882 for more information.

* The Homeland Hospice office is located in Harrisburg PA, and serves 14 South Central PA counties. The volunteer is to reside in that area so the Volunteer Coordinator can periodically meet with them and provide the proper support.
