Argentium Senior Connections, Family Service of Glencoe, and New Trier Township have partnered to bring Senior Connections' friendly visiting program to Glencoe, Glenview, Wilmette, and Winnetka. We are currently looking for visiting volunteers to connect with a socially isolated older adult in these community with a weekly visit. Upcoming training dates TBD. Inquire today to learn more!

What we do

We match seniors with a vetted and trained volunteer visitor, in order to form a friendship and pursue common activities together.

Argentium Senior Connections staff will meet with you to introduce our program and learn about you and your experiences. We then carefully match you with a volunteer visitor.

Our volunteers are of all ages and backgrounds, and are carefully matched with you based on shared interests, compelling personal histories, or simply a desire to meet someone new. You will be personally introduced to your new connection, and individual support will be provided to plan visits and activities to ensure the relationship thrives.

When you have visits

We help schedule weekly visits for about an hour at a time. We ask both you and your volunteer visitor to commit to one year of visits.

Where you meet

You and your visitor can meet in your home, a park, or anywhere that you feel comfortable.

Start a Connection

Our volunteer visitors come from all walks of life, including college students, families with young children, career professionals and retirees.

If you, or someone you know, would like to form a relationship with a volunteer visitor on a weekly basis, you can call or email the Program Manager or fill out an online application today at www.argentiumcare.org/volunteers

We will schedule a time to meet with you and tell you about Senior Connections, as well as get to know you.

  • Each match is unique.
  • Our staff will personally introduce you.
  • We will schedule weekly visits.
  • There is no cost for participation.

Description

There comes a time in everyone’s life when we need the help of others. At Argentium Care we understand how overwhelming decisions regarding your well-being, or that of a loved one, can be.

Over 40 years ago we saw a need, and so began our journey, to support the adults in our communities. We founded a non-profit to focus on delivering the highest level of service and support. Over the years, we have become recognized as a trusted organization, with a reputation for adapting to the changing needs of adults without sacrificing quality.

Today, our dedicated volunteers form close one-on-one relationships, engaging older adults. Our highly trained caregivers assist with everything from simple daily tasks to more structured and dedicated in-home care plans. You see, we feel we’re doing more than just providing for the needs of our clients - we’re helping them to continue to live the life they’ve created. And as we serve a growing community, our commitment to provide the highest level of care remains as strong as ever.

Argentium Care supports adults in our communities with two core programs: Argentium Home Care SM and Argentium Senior Connections SM.
