Community Cooking foster meaningful dialogues, produce hunger relief meals, and cultivate community. Community Cooking is a daily volunteer opportunity that brings together our culinary students and volunteers to upcycle otherwise wasted food into wholesome, scratch-made meals for San Diegans facing hunger.

No cooking experience required, participate in the way that's most comfortable to you. You can wash veggies, chop fruit, bread zucchini or package our meals to send out into the community. We have something for everyone!

Mission Statement

Kitchens for Good believes all food has power, and all people have potential. Kitchens for Good breaks the cycles of food waste, poverty and hunger through innovative programs in workforce training, healthy food production, and social enterprise

Description

Kitchens for Good is a social enterprise 501(c)3 using kitchens to nourish and transform lives. We believe all food has power, and all people have potential. Our culinary apprenticeship program equips individuals to break the cycle of poverty, and launch vibrant careers in the culinary industry. Our students ‒ transitioning from incarceration, homelessness and foster-care ‒ hone their culinary skills while upcycling rescued food into scratch-made meals for hungry San Diegans.
