Kitchens For Good's mission is to reclaim healthy food that would otherwise go to waste, and use it to strengthen the local food economy, and empower, nourish and engage the community.
Kitchens for Good's mission is to empower, nourish, and engage the community through healthy food, workforce training, and social enterprise. Kitchens for Good was founded under the belief that neither food nor people should ever go to waste. Our kitchen aims to bridge the gap between wasted food and hunger by rescuing and purchasing surplus and cosmetically imperfect food from wholesalers, and farmers, and engaging volunteers and culinary job training students to transform it into nutritious meals and products that will be distributed throughout our community. Our program not only meets the most immediate needs of hunger, but also addresses the root cause of poverty through a workforce development program that gives people the skills to become self sufficient.
