For the last 32 years, the Children's Support League (CSL) has been changing lives in your community!

We've helped thousands of children from newborns to teenagers, those struggling with disabilities, surviving sex trafficking, overcoming illiteracy, and the list goes on. We've done this by giving more than $4 million to 200+ local charities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. For more information copy and paste this link in your browser:

So, how can YOU help? Become a weekend-Docent.
Annually, on the last weekend in April, the Heart of the Home Tour features 5 stunning houses located in the Piedmont and Oakland Hills. Proceeds are granted to local charities who help children in your community. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, our overhead is low which allows 96% of the money raised to stay in our neighborhoods helping kids. But in order for the Tour to be a success, we need many volunteers to help out as Docents.

Being a Docent is a lot of fun... and a great way to help children in need in your community. As a Docent you will be a guide for Tour patrons, pointing out interesting things about each home. For additional information about CSL and how volunteering for us impacts your community, visit us at: https://wehelpkids.org

Shifts are 4-hours and we encourage friends, families and groups to volunteer.

BONUS: Docents have the option to purchase a discounted Tour ticket for only $20 (74% savings) and each Docent is automatically entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize!

Mission Statement

Our Mission Children's Support League of the East Bay (CSL) is committed to improving the lives of children in our community. We raise funds to support a variety of non-profit agencies that benefit disadvantaged children, newborn to age 18, living in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Our purpose is exclusively charitable. CSL's goals are to keep children safe, support their families, enhance their intellectual, emotional and physical well-being, and enrich their lives. CSL is devoted to providing assistance to meet these goals for children within our East Bay community. We are dedicated to serving disadvantaged and at-risk children without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, creed or political affiliation.

Description

About Children's Support League

Founded in 1986, the Children's Support League of the East Bay (CSL) is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving children's lives in our East Bay community. Our 30-40 active volunteer-members donate their time, talents, and energy to raise funds which we contribute to non-profit agencies serving at-risk children in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

Our accomplishments are made possible by the efforts of our members and our generous underwriters, advertisers, and other supporters. Since 1988, CSL has held the annual Heart of the Home Tour, Boutique, and Raffle. Combined with individual, foundation and corporate donations, the proceeds from the Tour have enabled CSL to award over $4 million in grants to programs supporting disadvantaged children in the East Bay, including $190,000 to 21 organizations in 2019.
