Mission Statement

Our Mission Children's Support League of the East Bay (CSL) is committed to improving the lives of children in our community. We raise funds to support a variety of non-profit agencies that benefit disadvantaged children, newborn to age 18, living in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Our purpose is exclusively charitable. CSL's goals are to keep children safe, support their families, enhance their intellectual, emotional and physical well-being, and enrich their lives. CSL is devoted to providing assistance to meet these goals for children within our East Bay community. We are dedicated to serving disadvantaged and at-risk children without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, creed or political affiliation.

Description

About Children's Support League

Founded in 1986, the Children's Support League of the East Bay (CSL) is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving children's lives in our East Bay community. Our 30-40 active volunteer-members donate their time, talents, and energy to raise funds which we contribute to non-profit agencies serving at-risk children in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

Our accomplishments are made possible by the efforts of our members and our generous underwriters, advertisers, and other supporters. Since 1988, CSL has held the annual Heart of the Home Tour, Boutique, and Raffle. Combined with individual, foundation and corporate donations, the proceeds from the Tour have enabled CSL to award over $4 million in grants to programs supporting disadvantaged children in the East Bay, including $190,000 to 21 organizations in 2019.

This is one of the best organizations in our neighborhood working for local children's causes. They are an all-volunteer group whose funds go to help children at risk in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Their overhead is like 4% so you know that the work you do as a volunteer is for a great organization and going to help a worthy cause. Plus, it's a lot of fun showing off some of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. Being a Docent is easy and educational plus I know that the time I spend volunteering helps them raise a lot of money for children who desperately need the help.

Great organization to be a member of and there are a lot of committed, hard-working volunteers that make the tour happen each year which raises a lot of money for local children's advocacy agencies.

I have worked with the Children's Support League the last four years. It is a fantastic non-profit, has a very dynamic group of members and does terrific work! CSL is a great way to get involved in philanthropic work and make new friends in the process!
