ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Inc

Did you know that roughly 5% of the population struggles with Hoarding Disorder?

Catholic Charities offers the perfect opportunity for a dedicated, compassionate individual with a genuine passion for helping others to provide personalized support to those who struggle with Hoarding Disorder in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.

Our program offers a holistic solution to this widely under-served demographic in our communities. Our staff collaborates together to develop individualized care plans for each client, in order to meet their goals and improve their daily lives. The program also provides services such as: housekeeping, organizing belongings, grocery shopping and meal preparation.

The role of a Hoarding Support Volunteer offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to assist those who struggle with Hoarding Disorder, which is closely related to: depression, OCD, ADHD and anxiety. Volunteers will be able to spend one-on-one time socializing with the client, work directly with the Home Coach and assist with de-cluttering the client’s home.

By volunteering your time, you will be working toward our goal of helping our clients live safe, happy, and independent lives.

Description

Catholic Charities mission to "provide service to those in need, to advocate for justice and to call upon others to do the same" has been the core of our work since 1920. We measurably improve the lives of the poor in our communities and empower them to reach their full potential. When we accomplish this, lives are transformed and the benefits to the community can be exponential starting by improving the quality of life one person at a time.

With an outpouring of support from the community, we are able to help the poorest among us.
