This is a quiet, indoor volunteer opportunity. We have a front desk/reception person in the historic Winship House at 216 W Portland St, in Phoenix. Right now this position is full, but we are accepting new applications for substitutes who can cover occasionally for those volunteers who have to miss a shift.
Volunteers work from 12:30-4:00pm (daily) as well as 9:00am-12:30pm (Fridays.) Each of our volunteers picks just one day a week to help, for example, every Thursday 12:30-4:00.
RIGHT NOW WE ARE FULLY STAFFED. ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUBSTITUTES. SUBSTITUTES COULD EVENTUALLY MOVE INTO A PERMANENT ONCE-A-WEEK POSITION.
Example duties: stuffing envelopes, sticking-on mailing labels, greeting people who enter the building, and data entry. We can adjust the type of work to your skills and preferences. Some volunteers prefer to bring a book or some homework and limit themselves to receptionist duties.
