Spend your Saturday morning saving trees and beautifying two neighborhood greenspaces! Some of Georgetown's biggest trees are being threatened by invasive weeds like ivy and they need our help! Help us finish our work of clearing ivy from a landscape in the historic Georgetown Neighborhood and remove weeds from a colorful neighborhood greenspace that connect Georgetown and Beacon Hill.
Everyone can help! All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all of the tools and training needed. So bring along your friends and family and get your hands dirty!

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
