Are you looking for a fun and unique way to connect with young people in your community or perhaps fulfill a school credit? Do you have a passion for history, farm life, or a combination of the two? This opportunity may be for you! Between our spring and fall programs we introduce thousands of school children to farm life every year, and we need volunteer tour guides to help us host and ensure our guests have an enjoyable and unforgettable experience here.
Our historic spring program focuses on pre-electric farm life and the roles of children on a farm, including work and play. Kids have the opportunity to help churn butter, wash clothes, and meet our friendly farm animals. The spring program entails dressing in 1920's era clothing. It runs through the month of May, on weekdays (flexible schedule).

In the fall, our field trips are geared toward younger children and highlight a more modern look at farming. Kids enjoy a hayride to our pumpkin patch, games, and an introduction to our various farm animals. The fall program runs through the month of October, on weekdays (flexible schedule). Both group leaders and tractor drivers are needed! If any of this sounds intriguing to you, please get in touch with us - we'd love to tell you more about this fun opportunity!

Mission Statement

The mission of Pomeroy Living History Farm is to provide educational and engaging experiences for our community, primarily focused on farm life - past and present.

Description

Pomeroy Living History Farm is a nationally registered historic site and nonprofit farm museum, located in Yacolt, WA. Since being settled by EC Pomeroy in 1910, the farm has been continually inhabited and run by his descendants. We gained our nonprofit status in 1989 and have since worked to preserve the farm and a way of life that is becoming more and more distant. Our volunteers are an integral piece of our success and we rely on them heavily to carry out our community events. Activities vary throughout the year, and include school programs, "Farm Days" weekends, and a pumpkin patch.
