DIGITAL MEDIA AND PRODUCTION INTERN/VOLUNTEER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Collating and distributing materials, and requesting reprints from the City’s Print Shop
* Proofreading and editing
* Brand Stewardship
* Data entry
* Assisting with Digital Media support projects as needed
* Taking photographs as needed at special events
* Content creation, including flyers, posters and digital graphics to publish on social and displays
* Creating and maintaining the quarterly master list of Norfolk Public Library classes and events
* Ability to work 15 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (proficient with spelling, grammar, punctuation, and preferably AP style)
* Exceptional proofreading and editing skills
* Strong attention to detail and follow-through
* Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment, with always changing deadlines
* Adaptable to fluctuating work duties and responsibilities
* Ability to receive feedback and make the appropriate changes
* Self-motivated and team player attitude and takes assignments readily
* Must understand social media platforms and how to use them
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, iMovie and Internet, and with the following social platforms: Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram YouTube and Twitter
* Basic photography skills
* Able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

EXPERIENCE:
* One year (preferred): MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, iMovie and Internet, and with the following social platforms: Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram YouTube and Twitter
* 2-5 years (preferred): Graphic Design experience
* One year (preferred): Photography
