Come join our team! Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities is giving you an opportunity to make a difference! We’re currently looking for volunteers to join our Long Term Care Ombudsman Program who advocate for:
- Resident rights
- Choice in care delivery
- Choice in daily preferences and activities
- Quality care in all long term care settings, including nursing homes & assisted living facilities
In the last three years, residents' quality of life has changed. We need volunteers to ensure the voices of the residents are heard! Volunteers help ensure that residents are given opportunities to have control over the quality of their lives. Volunteers will be trained as advocates. PPE is provided and flexible opportunities offered.
If you can speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, we need you! Improving lives one visit at a time!

Direction Home Akron Canton centers long-term care on the person - not the problem. We really get to know you and your loved ones, so that we can help you navigate your long-term care options with dignity and understanding. Direction Home Akron Canton will be the central access point and the preferred long-term care management organization for all people with disabilities.
