This Volunteer Assignment is located at the Butterfly House (Faust Park - Chesterfield).
As Meet Me Outdoors volunteers, you'll join staff in welcoming and educating about what the Butterfly House has to offer this spring and encouraging visitors to have great outdoor adventures.
This weekend is about:
- Energizing people to kick-off spring at the Butterfly House, experience its seasonal attractions and take action related to increasing local biodiversity.
- Increase awareness of the nature-inspired play spaces at the Butterfly House's Nature T.R.E.K.
- Motivate St. Louisans to explore and discover the Butterfly House, Missouri Botanical Garden, Shaw Nature Reserve, local parks, and other nature-rich places in the region as part of MBG's commitment to strengthening people’s connections with the natural world.
You will be stationed outside in our outdoor Native Butterfly Garden or inside the Butterfly House. Your support may include helping with:
- Assisting visitors with building an insect hotel
- Handing out native trees
- Handing out scavenger hunts and prizes
- Handing out maps/event programs
- Helping guests navigate the event
- Provide guests with excellent customer service
Applicants under 18 must have their parent/legal guardian complete a Parent/Legal Guardian Consent Form in order to volunteer for Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis.
