Project Upkeep is a complimentary program to better help our clientele funded annually through People's United Bank. We need volunteers and tradesman to offer assistance to the elderly and disabled and their homes. Volunteers will be assigned tasks to improve the safety and livability of the homes. Volunteers and tradesman will be reimbursed for materials used either through the fund or the client themselves. Sample projects would be weatherizing doors and windows, fixing hand rails, installing proper lighting and fixing leaky faucets. Often times you will be called to be the staffs eyes for diagnostic purposes only. We also complete fall and spring yard cleanups and dump runs.
Enriching lives and supporting individuals to remain independent through a compassionate volunteer program.
Community Caregivers of Greater Derry has been in existence for the past 33 years. The organization has focused on the needs of the elderly and disabled in our community. The intent of the program is to help those who have difficulty maintaining independence and quality of life because they are elderly, temporarily or permanently disabled, recuperating from illness or dealing with chronic illness. Services such as friendly visiting, grocery shopping, light chores and medical transport are offered through an incredible network or caring and committed volunteers. We serve the towns of Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Sandown and Windham. We also run a "Loaner's Closet" of used, durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, shower chairs, and commodes available to anyone in the community FREE for as long as needed.
