Mission Statement
Mission: The GardenWorks Project empowers, educates, and promotes organic suburban agriculture to improve the wellbeing of our community, the environment, and families facing food insecurity. We support all gardeners in their efforts to grow and prepare food for themselves and their neighbors in need. Vision: Our community nourished by gardeners empowered to grow and share food.
Description
We help families who would otherwise be unable to grow their own food because of financial need, disability, or advanced age. The GardenWorks Project works with area food pantries to identify families who are both in need of food assistance and want to grow their own food. Our dedicated group of volunteers make it happen.
We welcome volunteers to help us build gardens in May and June of each year, and serve on our board of directors or committees.
