Volunteer groups are needed to help the South Cumminsville Community Garden grow! Working In Neighborhoods (WIN) is currently looking for a group of about 4 - 8 volunteers to help remove debris and overgrowth from the property.
This project is outdoors and will require a moderate amount of physical exertion. All tools and materials will be provided by WIN. Availability during the work week (Monday - Friday between 9 AM - 5 PM) is preferred; however, evening and weekend opportunities may be possible as WIN staff members are available.
Responsibilities:
- wear durable, close-toed shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting dirty
- work outdoors under the supervision of a WIN staff member
- observe caution when working with tools and materials
- clean up work site and return tools when tasks are completed
Qualifications:
- able to spend extended periods of time standing or kneeling
- able to lift and carry light loads of materials and tools
- follows directions and safety procedures

Since 1978, Working In Neighborhoods (WIN) has assisted low- and moderate-income residents of Hamilton County bring stability to their neighborhoods and their families. WIN is a non-profit community development corporation and a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that focuses on the areas of housing development, home ownership, foreclosure prevention, energy conservation, and leadership development.
- We build and rehab energy-efficient homes for low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers.
- We provide education and support to prepare people for homeownership.
- We assist homeowners at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure.
- We educate around energy conservation and financial capability.
- We train residents to become neighborhood leaders who can advocate for themselves and their neighbors.
