Help elders learn to use the computer in the Community! Volunteer to tutor technology for seniors living at Beth Asher in Oakland! We are looking for a volunteer who is bilingual in Cantonese and English, and is available 1 hour every week or every month Monday or Tuesday during normal business hours (anytime between 9am -5pm).
Many of SAHA’s seniors living in affordable housing want to learn how to use their technology and have very little knowledge of how to operate and navigate a computer, a tablet and/or a smartphone. They have a strong desire and need to learn. Help these seniors operate their technology so that they can communicate with family and friends!
Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer for a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.

Description
The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
