OC Human Resource Services (HRS) Recruitment Services develops information about job opportunities and identifies ways to promote job openings to attract qualified candidates for specific positions and promote the County of Orange as an employer of choice.

Intern Duties/Responsibilities:
Interns may be involved in one or more of the following projects/assignments, depending upon their knowledge and skills:

• Assist with video taping and editing, using Adobe Premiere and Apple iMovie software;
• Develop promotional materials (e.g., flyers or videos for job fairs etc.);
• Assist with photographing HRS Recruitment Services staff and events;
• Assist in creating collateral and graphic materials with InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop;
• Assist in the coordination, set up, and presentation during events;
• Participate in meetings and schedule and conduct presentations;
• Develop templates and customized social media posts, promoting employment opportunities to be posted on social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn;
• Research and draft various employment-related topic posts;
• Incorporate graphic/digital design for social media, using Canva, Photoshop or other graphic design software;
• Evaluate effectiveness of social media sites, summarize key indicators, identify trends and make recommendations to increase outreach and participation; and
• Assist with day-to-day administrative duties and other duties related to video production/editing and social media.

Educational Requirements:
This internship is best suited for college students or recent graduates majoring in and/or with personal/professional experience in one or more of the following areas: public relations, social media, marketing, communications, journalism, human resources, visual arts/design, videography, photography, graphic art/design or related fields.

Skills, Training or Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have experience in videotaping, production and editing; exhibit excellent written/oral communication and customer service skills; and demonstrate superior organizational skills with the ability to take direction and complete assignments under tight deadlines. Computer proficiency is required, including familiarity with MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and experience with PC-based graphic design and video editing software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, iMovie, and Adobe Premier.

Time Commitment:
Flexible schedules are available that consist of 10 - 20 hours per week for 8 - 12 weeks. Hours must be scheduled during regular business hours (Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). Interns able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for the internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.

Required Background Screening:
Prior to placement, the applicant will be asked to undergo a LiveScan criminal record check through the California Department of Justice that requires a Social Security number and state-issued driver's license or identification card.
