Would you recommend County of Orange?
I believe the organization is very useful program that I would love to be apart of
I subscribed in April 2017 to find out when they have volunteer training.
It is September 2017 now and I never been able to attend not one class.
They hold 2 classes back to back (not sure why) every 1.5 months, on average, for potential volunteers and these classes get booked up within half an hour of listing them.
Needless to say, they don't need volunteers onsite.
I quote the public education officer of that organization who said "We have many people interested in our volunteer programs and the spots are reserved quickly."
On the other hand, they may need foster homes like any other shelter but I have not explored that process beyond studying the material online.
Volunteering in this place seems to promote a better community for all ages. Children and elders are able to receive benefits in the fields of learning, relationships, communications, and connections. It also allows people to improve their social skills and find a passion in helping people and seeing them happy.
I would very likely recommend this organization to a friend or colleague because of its great variety of tasks you can do. My friends love to work with animals so why not recommend this place, I mean it's also within our area. It's a fun way to get your community service hours done and helps you gain new experiences.
