Spend your Saturday morning volunteering at our Hazel Wolf Wetlands and giving back to this critical wetland and forest habitat. Help us to plant native, wetland-loving species and to remove invasive species that are threatening the health of this 116 acre property.
Hazel Wolf Wetlands Preserve is a pristine wetland refuge, which is home to many wildlife species, serves as a recreation respite for many nature-seekers, and plays an integral role in controlling the quality and quantity of water flowing into Lake Sammamish- and you can be part of protecting this ecological gem!
Make sure to spend some time after the event exploring the trails, and consider bringing along a pair of binoculars to check out the wide array of birds and critters that call the Wetlands their home!
Everyone can help! All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. We provide all of the tools and training needed. So bring along your friends and family and get your hands dirty!
When: Saturday, March 2nd; 9:00am- 12:00pm
Where: Hazel Wolf Wetlands Preserve

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
