ORGANIZATION: WISCONSIN CRAFT

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Morning Glory Art Fair Logo

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the Morning Glory Art Fair is presented by Wisconsin Craft, whose mission is to enhance the cultural life of Wisconsin by supporting the work of artists and makers of fine craft. Shows like this rely on the help of dedicated patrons and supporters of handmade work. Supporters like you!

This year the show will be held on August 9 & 10 on the Plaza in front of Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee's Deer District. We have a wide variety of needs throughout the weekend, including Friday. Some tasks are physical, some benefit from great people skills, while others tasks would be great for those a bit shyer or who work well alone. One of our most critical needs is for booth-sitters, where you keep an eye on an artist's booth while they take a quick break.

Shifts are generally 2-3 hours long, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the show before or after your shift. Bring a friend to volunteer at the same time and make the entire day a fun outing! If you register in advance, we can offer you free parking in the 6th Street parking structure just south of Fiserv Forum.

Volunteers are needed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

  • help artists set-up and tear down
  • traffic flow management (during artist set-up and tear down)
  • greeters at show entrances
  • booth sitters
  • artist check-in
  • staff the information booth

Mission Statement

Wisconsin Craft Develops and promotes Craft and the Maker to enhance the cultural life of Wisconsin communities and beyond.

Description

The goal of the newly incorporated Wisconsin Craft (WI Craft) is to build a statewide networking organization that enhances the cultural life of Wisconsin and surrounding regions by encouraging, developing, and supporting traditional and contemporary craft and craft makers.

We are excited for this next phase in our Wisconsin history and would love to have you involved in forming this new organization. We have a proud 100 year old tradition which has evolved from the original Wisconsin Society of Applied Arts 1916-1936 to Wisconsin Designer Craftsman 1937-1981 to Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council 1982-2021. Now we begin the next phase with Wisconsin Craft!

Wisconsin Craft members enjoy a wide variety of activities designed to provide educational information about the craft field for artists and the general community. All members are welcome to get involved on a committee to shape the organization as it grows. You can help create and plan new events that build and connects our communities to Craft around Wisconsin.

Current events include: Morning Glory Art Fair, Biennial Members Exhibition, Themed Exhibitions, MKE Studio Tour, Educational Programming and Business of Art Programming.
