During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage guests by staffing the shops in our Streets of Old Grand Rapids exhibit. Volunteers will be able to choose which shop they would like to train in and staff. Options include Voigt Herherpolsheimer Department Store, Rudell Drug Store, Van Dort Print Shop (with a working 1880 printing press), the Firehouse, and our working lathe. Free training is provided. Most volunteers work one shift per week. Actively recruiting for week-ends.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

The Public Museum is a collections-based educational organization that explores and celebrates the world and our place in it. We exist to be a living monument of artifacts, ideas and stories told through exhibitions, events and educational programming designed to inspire, motivate and celebrate our human bond. We enrich the life of our community through experiences of the wider world in a uniquely Grand Rapids context.
The Public Museum seeks volunteers to assist in fulfilling our mission as a educational institution to collect, preserve and present the natural, cultural and social history of the region.
We'll work with your schedule.
