When my children were small, we would go to the old GR museum. All of us loved it and looked so forward to our trips there. When they built the new museum, they kept many of the old displays but added many more new ones. I love it! Beautiful set up with so much fun and educational exhibits. Never a boring minute.

I have enjoyed voluneering at the musuem and have met many great people who are now my friends. If you love history, this is the place for you and if you like fun, interesting people, again, this is the place for you.

I enjoy being a volunteer at the GRPM the staff is very friendly and I enjoy the learning and fun atmosphere of the Museum. I also enjoy seeing the families and school children getting excited about what they see and learn. GRPM volunteer program is very rewarding and a lot of fun. I look forward to all of my volunteer time at the Museum.

The GRPM is a great place to learn and experience history not only from all around the world but also history from right here in Grand Rapids. They really appreciate their volunteers and that make you feel like part of the team. I've only volunteered there a couple times but I know I'm already looking for my next chance to get in and make a difference.

I have volunteered at the G R Public Museum for several years as a docent for several their traveling exhibit & am currently a docent in the Old Grand Rapids Fire Station on Frifay afternoons. I have always liked museums for their wonderful educational value and this is a great one.

The GRPM is an excellent place to learn and have fun! Multiple programs and activities keep you interested and never bored from age 1 to 95. The museum staff and volunteers are always around to answer any questions or give you interesting information about exhibits. They have touch screens, description labels, videos, audio sets (for special exhibits) and the ability to touch certain exhibits. Whatever you are interested in you can see, Egypt, planes, animals history, space...the list continues. You can have fun while learning in a multitude of ways. A perfect place to go with family or by yourself rain or shine. The large windows facing the river give you a great view. This museum is not old, dusty or outdated. It is interactive and exploding with life!

The GRPM is a wonderful place to be whether visiting an exhibit or volunteering. It is steeped in history both local and worldwide. A place to learn and share, receive and give back. What more can you ask for? The staff are welcoming and helpful.
