Help the Red Cross to build our donor base!!
Financial Development Office Support Volunteers assist with special projects that help fulfill fundraising needs and provide support for annual fundraising events (Gala, Golf Outing, Humanitarian of the Year Luncheon, etc.). Volunteers may also help with chapter stewardship efforts, mailings, thank you calls to donors, general office work, database maintenance and donor research.
Responsibilities Include:
- Basic research of potential donors
- Database entry - adding notes to contacts, relationships and other clerical data entry
- Working in Salesforce
- Assists with and supports fundraising events including but not limited to event venue arrangements, signage, table arrangements, displays, registration, event logistics
- Print projects
- Conducts donor thank you calls and writes personalized thank you notes
- Assists with fielding calls, mailings and third-party agreements during times of disaster
- Assists with mailing including but not limited to invitations, sponsor acknowledgement letters and thank you cards
- Assists with the solicitation of in-kind donations
- Provides general office support including but not limited to making copies, filing, answering the phone, preparing materials for presentations, cleaning out records and other special projects
Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic about the American Red Cross mission and programs
- Experience in supporting special events (a plus)
- Knowledge of fundraising principals (a plus)
- Comfortable answering and making phone calls
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Flexible
- Able to work as a team
- General knowledge of office equipment
Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that Financial Development Office Volunteers provide at minimum 7-10 hours of time a week.
