Health Guardians Program - Group Support Intern
Location: Sacred Heart Apartments on Canal Street, New Orleans, LA
The intern will assist the site director with the creation and implementation of support groups for clients dealing with homelessness as well as other health issues. Two to three more groups will be created with topics such as recovery and a gender specific group for women. Intern will assist with creating the materials and the curriculum for these groups. They will also assist case managers with client files and documentation, as well as undertake admin tasks (filing, purging charts). Strong organizational and professional skills are needed, prior experience with challenging populations preferred. Ideal for a undergrad or grad student in public health, social work, or similar field.
Schedule: Flexible, Mon-Fri from 9 am - 5 pm. Appx. 10 hrs/week.

Description
Since 1938 Catholic Charities has been offering life-giving programs, advocating for the voiceless and empowering the most vulnerable to foster a more just society. Catholic Charities has over 22 programs and twoaffiliated ministries in the eight civil parishes of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Our programs engage and serve members of the community from pre-birth to the elderly but all of them fall under one of the following areas:

- education and young adults

- housing and homelessness
- disaster recovery
- immigration/refugee resettlement
- justice and employment
- physical and mental health
